Water is a remarkable resource because it makes up 66% of your total body weight. Because of that, water plays a vital role in your weight management. So it is imperative that you drink plenty of water...at least half your body weight in ounces.
A key role that water plays in your health is to flush all the toxins out of your body, which contributes to creating a healthier body. And the best part about water is that it contains no calories...you can drink as much as you want!
Think about it, when you consume the correct amount of water each day, you will eat less because you won't feel as hungry. As a matter of fact, feeling hungry should be the first indicator that it's time to drink another glass of water. Do your best to stay away from the kitchen! After 20 minutes, if you continue to feel hungry and it's not time for a regular meal, try a healthy snack like celery, a handful of nuts or a dill pickle.
One of the best methods I've found for making sure I drink the right amount of water is to fill a gallon jug with the correct amount of water each morning. You can also use the 16oz. water bottles as a measure as well. These are great for weight loss because you can fill them up, freeze them overnight, and as they melt throughout the day, you have fresh, cold water. If you prefer your water at room temperature, you can drink it that way as well.
What matters most is that you're getting the necessary amount of water into your body each day. As your water intake improves, losing that first ten (or last ten) pounds becomes much easier!
